When playgrounds closed as part of the COVID-19 crisis in the spring of 2020, we decided to bring play directly to families. We raised over $5,000 in cash and in-kind donations to distribute 2400 packs to families in need across Philadelphia. 

The Play Packs included books, chalk, bubbles, art supplies, and a week of activity sheets that encouraged free play and learning, as well as support for caregivers. The Play Packs built upon our previous advocacy work creating Adventure Kits for the Free Library of Philadelphia.

The project continued through the summer of 2020 in partnership with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, YMCA, and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, supporting 7600 families in the greater Philadelphia Area.
